The brief

The center is an independent research institution in the social sciences and humanities. It produces research, reports and academic journals, and runs seminars, conferences and dialogue forums. It needed a website that presents this varied output in an organised, accessible way. It also needed a way to stay in touch with researchers and interested readers between events. And it needed a visual identity and social presence to give its work a wider reach.

What we did

Valdura began by cataloguing the center's output and events, then built a sitemap that separates activities from publications. The interface was designed in a clear style that supports long-form reading and highlights the latest publications and events. The site was built in Arabic with an English version, and is fully responsive across devices. The activities section covers seminars, conferences and field research, and the publications section covers books, reports and academic journals. A podcast section, event and dialogue forum announcements and a newsletter sign-up were added. Page speed was tuned and basic SEO set up before launch. On the design side, Valdura created a visual system with templates for event announcements, publication covers and posts. It also manages the center's social media through a content calendar, post and story design, community management and regular reporting.
